Hello, I'm sorry for the sad news. We all hope that Keith will recover and come back soon. I remember an interview in 1994, when he announced for the first time his ulnar nerve desease, and he said that if he hadn't recovered, he would have preferred to change work and leave completely the world of music. It's important for Keith to know that his audience loves his music and his creativity - it's not a matter of virtuosity or fast playing. His latest albums - Godzilla and KEB - are completely different, nevertheless they are both absolute mastepieces. For these reasons I hope that anyway he will go on writing and recording music. My thoughts and prayers are with you Keith at this time.
I know from your book and photos here and there at different times, that you were close with your mum. Although she is no longer here, she will always be with you in your heart.
I'm sorry to hear of your hand problems too. I know how difficult it is, with having just a minor form of it myself. Home the treatments you are trying bring an improvement. Take care Sue

Keith, My thoughts and prayers are with you as well. You have been an inspiration to me since I first heard "The Gnome" in 1972. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Y1x04hAUT4I ran home, threw out my guitar and begged my parents for piano lessons. They complied. I saw the Brain Salad Surgery show at Anaheim, Ca. and that sealed it. No band could compare. I've since discovered the worlds of classical and jazz thanks to your inspiration. It must be very frustrating to be a keyboardist of your caliber and be challenged with these wrist / hand problems you've experienced over the years. Please remember, it's not merely your virtuoso playing we all love, but more importantly, your great gift as a composer. That's what keeps us all coming back for more. Hang on to the dream Keith, I know you'll make it through. Freslanta www.youtube.com/user/rickfreslanta

Keith, I am so sorry to hear about your injury , and the recent passing of your mother. I am sure she was very proud of you.
Long ago, in a video, you mentioned something about how you make your music to communicate with others out there, and you hope that there are those who get it.
Well , I am one of those who "gets it" , since the 1960's.
All the best, and I am hoping I wil be able to shake your hand again one day soon. Al from Connecticut

Dear Keith,
I'd like to echo the thoughts and feelings of fellow fans in wishing you well.
You are and will always be a wonderful communicator of ideas in music. Some months ago I played the House of Ocean Born Mary to my two young sons. I didn't try to tell them the story but I did suggest that they imagine they were at the cinema. Within seconds they were listening intently and the youngest said "Daddy, I'm in the desert and I can see a big army approaching!" The other immediately agreed: "Yes, it's the Roman army. I think they're going to attack." I chimed in with "Look there's a centurion. Let's give him a name." And they were off: triumphal processions, feasts and celebrations, tributes to fallen companions - half an hour later we'd experienced them all; and it was all thanks to your music, its evocative power, humanity and sense of history.
Just as 40 years ago you introduced me to the idea that classical, jazz and rock music could be blended into something new, so you are now opening up the musical imaginations of my children.
Your music is a great gift and your Mum and Dad's love shines through it. As a father and fan, I am immensely grateful to all three of you for cherishing this gift.
Warmest wishes, Richard

I did forward all the above messages to someone who I hoped would pass them on to Keith. I also posted a note on facebook. A reply (via his web site) arrived today, and those who have registered at Keith's web site for news updates, will, I suspect have received a message today from him. In case you haven't, this is what he said ... WITH APPRECIATION.... I wish to thank everyone for all the kind letters and messages of condolences and sympathies recently sent to me and posted on this site during a tough time. They are deeply appreciated. Although I have not been able to respond to you individually, they are most gratefully received. I am currently writing and composing for future projects.
Many thanks.
