Having been nearly drowned in bad news of late a friend provided some relief when he recommended a new band to me called FROST*.
They have released 2 albums, "MillionTown" followed by "Experiments in Mass Appeal".
Jem Godfrey is the creative force in the band and is credited with writing hits for amongst others"Atomic Kitten", when I read this it didn't sound good. But hey check out these albums as IMO they offer great hope for the future of Britsh Prog Music.
These CDs are on constant repeat on the system,iPod and car.
And no I am not getting paid to plug them.

I have indeed got both Frost* albums (don't forget the '*' ) and they are indeed extremely good. Black Light Machine on Milliontown is particularly worthy of singling out as particularly progtastic!
While we're on the british prog scene. Check out Arena. Particularly Immortal? Very good. Also check out Pendragon in a similar vein,
And casting the net further. the two studio albums from Transatlantic are both stand-out modern prog
And looking at the US, there is of course the ever fabulous Spock's Beard, also their ex-Lead singer and multi-instrumentalist Neal Morse's solo albums. Dream Theater in their more melodic moments are worth a listen and their keyboard player Jordan Rudess' solo work is definitely worth seeking out. Whilst in seeking mode, seek out Cairo for very Keith like Hammond work (Particularly the album 'Conflicts and Dreams') Also look out for Glass Hammer whose keyboard player Fred Schenchel can make a hammond scream against a symphonic and etherial backdrop. The double album 'The Inconsolable Secret' is rather tasty.
Watch this space, I'll post some more...

Hi Mark,
Re Frost*
Black Light Machine is good but my personal favourites are:
Hyperventilate from Milliontown
&
Welcome to Nowhere from Mass Experiments
Look forward to your other recommendations.
PS: Has anyone heard Rick Wakemans live 6 Wives yet?
