Hello from coastal South Carolina (USA)
I just happened to stumble across the forum, whilst doing a Google search for the term "Tarkus".
I'm a progressive rock keyboard player, very heavily influenced by Keith Emerson, as well as Wakeman, Moraz and other phenomenal keyboardists. Of course, I'd have to say that Mr. Emerson is my all time number one favourite. He is such an AWESOME musician... unlike any other.
I hope to be posting on the forum and chatting with all of you very soon. Very glad to have found this wonderful forum.

Welcome to Tarkus, Gary.
I'm actually married to a prog rock keyboard player heavily influenced by Emerson, Wakeman and Banks! That said we are both prog rock fans, though I kind of grew up on Led Zeppelin and the moved across to ELP.
As I run this place, you won't be surprised if I say Emerson is my absolute favourite, and I have to agree, he is an awesome musician.
Hope you enjoy it here, and post plenty.
Sue

Hi everyone, I am also a new member. I have ben an ELP fan since I first heard them in vinyl in 1971. Starting in the seventies, in the NYC area, I have seen them in concert many , many times. The highlight for me was seeing KEB last summer, front row in a small club in New Haven CT. After the show, I got to shake his hand , and speak with him. This is a great forum!

Hi jzeke Welcome to Tarkus - hope you enjoy it here and post plenty! Lucky you - having seen ELP live, and getting so close to Keith. I can boast having shaken hands with him ... at the Astoria in London at the end of the concert there a couple of years ago, but didn't get to speak with him. My other link is the photo at the top of the forum ... I did each member of ELP a 25th Anniversary embroidered sampler - all the same, other than the instrument, each matched to the member it was for, and although not clear on the photo the '25 years' is across the keyboards. Keith actually asked for the photo to be taken and got the person to then send it on to me. Nice to meet you here, and I look forward to your postings.
