This reviewer is obviously NOT a fan of Progressive Rock. He gives good grades to all the non-prog artists... and puts down all the really talented performers. Read his negative comments.... www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-07-26/zz-top-melts-down-rock-to-three-chords-as-dinosaurs-deafen-london-review.htmlHe even has the nerve to say that Keith plays "clumsy and out of time"... Please forgive my language but, "what kinda stupid ass is this reviewer ? " I guess this quote explains it best: "When the judgement of history comes in 3-400 years, it's not the simplistic, shallow and worthless crap hyped by today's musically illiterate mainstream music critics that will be praised and remembered from the 20th century, but classic '70s progressive rock." ..... Tommy Schönenberg, 2008

Not that I have anything at all against the other bands which he champions as being "electrifying" "innovative" and "exciting".... I'm sure that the other bands put on good shows. But why be so hard on he Prog Bands? Good Lord...

Well his musical preferences are obvious ... nothing new about prog bashing.
I have been told that Transatlantic had some sound problems ... but they were truly stunning in May at the 02, doubt this was any different, and at this one they were joined by Steve Hackett for the encore and did Return of the Giant Hogweed ... I so wished I'd seen that.
As to Marillion, well I was so underimpressed by them in Bristol last year, that I didn't even bother to go look.
So few of the acts which filled 3 stages for 2 days and nights even get a mention!
As to ELP performance wise, well yes there was an odd bum note ... didn't take away from the performance and Keith was definitely not out of time ... send that reviewer over here, I could really enjoy shooting him after he has suffered every ELP album and a whole load of Transatlantic!
Need I say more ...

After switching off the computer last night, I realised this guy gave such a full report of The Dio tribute that he could not have seen Transatlantic ... The two things happened simultaneously on different stages ...

Yeah, it's really amazing to me that these so-called "Music Critics" always are putting down Prog Rock. While the biggest percentage of them have absolutely NO understanding of the true beauty and majesty of Progressive Rock. I take most of what they say, with a grain of salt anyway...
